Neuro-SEO Score

What does NSS measure?

NSS is Visibly’s measure for optimizing a piece of content. It combines coverage of relevant topics and questions with readability, clarity and configured audience motivations. The assessment uses your text and its associated content analysis.

The foundation: the Neuro-SEO-System®

The methodological foundation of NSS is the Neuro-SEO-System® (German overview), developed by Antonio Blago. It combines search engine optimization with buying psychology. NSS applies this approach to assessing content: relevant information, clear language and audience motivations.

SEO/GEO, language and audience motivations

See where your draft already meets the criteria and where a revision could help.

SEO/GEO: topics and terms

Which relevant topics and terms from the content analysis does the draft cover? Visibly shows missing terms and how many fall within their intended usage ranges. Repeating a term more often does not automatically improve coverage.

SEO/GEO: entities

The analysis identifies relevant entities, such as people, organizations, places or domain concepts. The editor shows how many appear in the text and which are missing, making topic coverage visible.

SEO/GEO: query fan-outs

A search query leads to related questions and information needs. Visibly compares the draft with the query fan-outs identified by the analysis and shows detected coverage, for example as a count of covered questions. Source references and other evidence signals complement this SEO/GEO assessment. These text checks do not verify complete answers or actual AI citations.

Readability

Language features such as sentence and word complexity indicate how easy a text may be to read. Revise difficult passages while preserving the level of expertise your audience needs.

Clarity and style

NSS considers language patterns that can make writing unnecessarily cumbersome. Its feedback helps you express ideas directly and remove avoidable barriers to understanding.

Configured audience motivations

When buying motivations are configured for your persona, Visibly checks whether the text reflects them in its wording. Without those inputs, this area is not assessed. The check does not measure the actual effect on readers.

The editor also provides feedback on headings, structure, brand rules and overoptimization. These checks complement NSS; not every displayed check contributes to the overall score.

E-E-A-T signals in the current draft

From NSS version v6, the score adds E-E-A-T signals for trust, expertise, experience and source authority. Visibly reuses the content checks from its E-E-A-T analysis, including authorship, source quality, and signals of original research, methods, case studies and expert quotations. Each new measurement assesses the current draft.

These text signals do not verify actual experience, qualifications, reputation or factual accuracy. Source authority describes the classification of linked sources, not the author’s reputation. Claims and evidence still need editorial review.

An existing website-wide E-E-A-T analysis is available separately in the editor and does not contribute to article NSS. If draft assessment is unavailable, for example due to insufficient text or an unsupported language, Visibly identifies NSS as text-only. Compare measurements using the same scoring version and context; older saved values change only after rescoring.

Feedback you can act on

Alongside the overall score, you receive component assessments and concrete findings, such as missing topics, uncovered questions or notable language patterns. After editing, score the text again and compare versions.

Scoring is rule-based and reproducible: the same normalized text, analysis, project and persona settings, and scorer version produce the same result. The upstream analysis can use AI; calculating NSS itself does not require a new language-model judgment.

Transparency means understanding the assessed areas, the inputs and the feedback. The exact calculation, weights and internal rules remain part of Visibly’s implementation. This page explains the method at a high level.

Missing inputs are treated as missing assessments. A complete NSS requires a suitable, completed content analysis. An unavailable score does not mean zero points.

How to use the score

  1. 01

    Choose the context

Use the appropriate analysis and persona for the article. Keep that context unchanged when comparing revisions.

  2. 02

    Make focused improvements

Review the findings and improve passages that help your readers. Factual accuracy, natural language and real evidence take priority over a higher number.

  3. 03

    Check the saved text

Score the saved text again. The editor and MCP use the same scoring basis when the text and context match.

Targets such as NSS 70 or 80 can help define an editing task. They are not universal quality thresholds or promised outcomes. Different topics or analysis versions are not equivalent comparisons.

What NSS does not establish

In the editor and with your assistant

NSS scoring with an existing analysis costs 0 Visibly credits. New analyses and your assistant’s model usage may incur separate costs.
